Microsoft Schedule+ - GUI Info

Microsoft Schedule+ was initially released as version 1.0 in 1992 as part of Windows 3.1. It was not immediately part of Office, but version 7.0 was integrated into Office 95.

When Microsoft Outlook was released in 1997, Microsoft prepared a version 7.5, although most of the functionality was now incorporated into Outlook. That version was included in Office until Office 2003 and was even part of early builds of Office 2007, but its use was now mainly for compatibility with version 1.0.

There is some obscurity surrounding the unusual version 8.0 that shipped with Office 2000. It calls itself Microsoft Outlook Calendar Manager, but was just Schedule+ 7.5 with some minor improvements. In later versions it was reverted to version 7.5 again.

Microsoft Schedule+ (version 1.0)

This is the first public release and includes two icons: one main one and another alternative one with the then usual 'Microsoft' background.

It took me a little while to set this one up, because I installed it in DosBOX from disk, but DosBOX lacks share.exe, which Schedule+ needs to run, so I had to create a separate folder in Windows 2000 with the DLLs and EXE.

It features several menus, File Manager style file dialogs and no real about box. The software includes a vertical tabbed interface down the left side, below the menus. The main screen includes a diary like schedule arranged in hourly rows. Along the right is a date picker with a notes section. As the user changes the date, the schedule changes and the user can input appointments through double clicking on a time and filling in an appointments box.

The user can then save the schedule in a native SCH file and open another in the SCH format, FIL file from WP Office or a CAL file from Windows Calendar.
